COWGIRLIN’

RQ-MSUNot all cowgirls grew up cowgirlin’.

Sometimes it’s just in your blood. I wasn’t raised on a ranch in Gods country pushing cattle or working sheep. I wasn’t raised on a horse or born with a rope in my hand. I may not know all the ways of the lifestyle, but I can tell you something. I have the will to learn.

I’ve always had a drive for the cowgirl way of life. I’ve wanted nothing more than a sound horse and the opportunity to ride. To care for livestock and to be able to say I worked really, really hard for the things that I have. I know it’s not all glitz and glam. There’s a lot more to cowgirlin’ than a hat and some boots.I think I have so much admiration for the western lifestyle because of the cowboys and cowgirls behind it. Not only are they hard workers but they are genuine humans. They’ll give you the shirt off their back but they don’t take no bull either. They take pride in their name and put their animals before everything else.

I am so excited to say that I am running for Miss Rodeo Sul Ross State University this year. I am so excited to have the opportunity to compete and represent the western way of life. The good Lord put the western lifestyle in my path for a reason. I may not be the best or the most experienced, but here I am…
